It was a dark day when it all began, a storm flickering through the sky, when the Fleet of Balance made the choice that would lead them further into the history books, further than their reputation as pirates alone would have been able to. The Mephistopheles and the Messiah ran side by side, cutting through the waters of the southern Atlantic, skimming the coast line of South America trying to remain hidden by the rain that fell in sheets. The Captain’s knew that their lives were in more danger than ever before, they had to escape yet no waters would be a safe harbor to them— those that hunted them would be merciless in their pursuit and would be in every part of the world… After all who would want to punish those that were dubbed responsible for the death of England’s beloved Heir and his Princess? They had one option left, one that no sailor in their right mind would want to take- journey inwards into the unexplored jungles of what had come to be called the Heljahs, even if its name was in truth the Amazon, it was the one place that no one would follow them… But its length was unmapped, dangerous, how far would the ships be able to journey? How long would they be able to survive in the unknown environment that waited for them?
Aaron Berick and John Slaril knew they had no other choice, and with out a single spoken word they fell into step, the Messiah behind the Mephistopheles, and headed towards the river that followed into the sea, they were going to escape even of what they fled to would kill them. Better to die in exploration than die as traitors.
Aaron watched as Slaril stepped onto the Messiah, a sneer plastered onto his face as he glared at the woman and the town that had was growing behind her. Slaril growled, he should have known it wouldn’t last, his way differed from the way of that woman that lead with him, they were to different and believed different things… he would have never thought, though, that it would be him getting the short end of the stick. His own crew (most of them) had betrayed him, they had joined her.
“So, princess, are you happy with yourself? Enjoy it while it lasts, this gateway will only be yours for so long—I have more allies than you will ever realize. I will destroy you, devil, and when the Villa lies burning I will watch you bleed, and I will enjoy every minute of it.”
Aaron watched the man, her hair falling into her eyes, it pained her to have to cast out her friend—but he was to cruel and what he wanted… She couldn’t stand the things he wanted. “I’m warning you now that if you return we few shall be more powerful than you can imagine, we will fight you and beat you back. If ever any of your blood comes meaning harm to mine we will know—I have been far to lenient, my people ask that I do more than banish you in punishment for all that you have done, so get on your ship and go. Leave this place and never return.”
“Not a moment of peace will you have, Shinobu, I will tell the world of this and it will be mine. Now that I will be back, and I will slay all that you love.”
A glorious world, un-plundered and mysterious, word of the discovery of the Strait no Kami spread like wild-fire as did John Slaril’s declaration of destroying the Villa of Kotou- The Gate Way to the land of the Gods. People flocked to where the Villa sat, but by the time that they reached it the small village had grown. The Villa was fortified by powers and weapons that had never been seen, creatures defended that gate way alongside humans. It took a long time before the first attack came from the other side of the gate—Slaril’s people had discovered another entrance to the Strait, and the people of the Villa knew that they would have to be strong to keep some semblance of order… And then Aaron Berick discovered the first of the blades, and chaos reigned in and outside of the Strait, the Villa, however, kept its peace—they knew that things would happen, they knew that if they strived good would reign, and they knew that they had to protect the blades… And the part of the map piece that had been found. In times that would come the people of the Villa would defend the map with their lives, and the people that followed Slaril’s descendants tried to destroy the Villa, but mostly they tried to get the map piece that was protected by Berick’s legacy… And in this world of magic and pirates, of fates and questions, this is where our story begins.
(you can thank Aeron for redoing most of this in one of her classes :3 We think the new history makes things work smoother)
